What NextPB Is

NextPB is a running mission-control app for planning, recording, and reviewing personal-best attempts.

The app does not use accounts, advertising profiles, or a cloud history database.

NextPB is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, cure, or prevention of any medical condition.

Location and Running Data

When you start a run, the Android app uses location permission to record GPS points, distance, pace, splits, and finish timing.

This data is used for app functionality: live coaching, auto-finish, GPX export, history, and debrief analysis.

NextPB does not request background location permission. The native foreground service runs only after the user starts a run.

Local Storage

NextPB does not require sign-in. Without an account or cloud sync, NextPB cannot guarantee restore after app deletion.

Run history, GPS tracks, app metrics, settings, and imported GPX data are stored locally in app-private storage and local screen cache.

When Android backup or device transfer is enabled, supported app-private native run files may be restored by the operating system. This is best-effort and is not guaranteed.

Local screen cache is for fast display, not backup. Clearing app data, clearing browser site data, or uninstalling the app can remove local history. Export important runs as GPX before deleting the app.

Sharing and Export

You can manually export or share GPX files and share cards. Once you share data outside NextPB, the destination app controls that data.

Samsung Health GPX import is user initiated; NextPB does not use the Samsung Health API or Health Connect.

LLM Insight

LLM Insight is optional. When enabled, course and result summary data can be sent through the NextPB /api/llm proxy to generate briefing or debrief insight.

NextPB does not send raw GPS tracks to the LLM prompt.

Turning LLM Insight off in Settings stops sending this data for LLM analysis. Rule-based analysis remains available locally.

Anonymous Usage Metrics

NextPB uses Vercel Web Analytics for anonymous page views and a Cloudflare Worker with D1 for a small set of product interaction counts used to improve product quality.

Analytics events use allowlisted categories such as runtime, run mode, language, and action type. NextPB does not send raw GPS tracks, coordinates, course or file names, run IDs, GPX content, running distance, or running time to analytics.

Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies and discards its daily visitor hash after 24 hours. Cloudflare stores only daily aggregate event counts, without a stable user or device identifier or a raw event log.

Third-Party Services

NextPB is hosted on Vercel, uses Cloudflare for anonymous aggregate event counts, and uses MapTiler map tiles and reverse-geocoding.

MapTiler requests can include the map viewport or lookup coordinate needed to render a map or course name. NextPB treats this as location processing for app functionality.

NextPB does not sell location data or use advertising profiles.

LLM providers are contacted only when LLM Insight is enabled.

Delete and Control

History entries can be deleted individually from History. The app also provides a visible history delete action for larger cleanup.

You can turn off voice coaching, status reports, and LLM Insight from Settings.

Children

NextPB is not directed to children. Do not use the app if you are under the minimum age required by your local law or app store policy.
